Within the project "Exploring Inspirations", KC Grad again organized workshops at the Open-air Museum "Old Village" in Sirogojno from 21 to 23 May 2015.
This latest project of KC Grad, featuring design and preservation of traditional crafts, was supported by Stimulering Fund Creative Industries Fund Netherlands.
Designers of clothing, shoes and jewellery from the Netherlands and Serbia will be engaged on this project with the aim to implement their own contemporary designer items inspired by old crafts and techniques; their pieces will be produced using traditional techniques such are knitting, crocheting, embroidery, filigree crafts and others.
The designers from the Netherlands Sanne Jansen (www.bysannejansen.com/) and Conny Groenewegen (www.connygroenewegen.nl/), participated in the first stage of the project Exploring Inspirations, which carried the subtitle Innovative Creativity. Their work and concepts are quite different, although they are both interested in exploring traditional crafts. Our national fashion designers involved in this project are: Vesna Krcanović (www.vesnakracanovic.com), Magdalena Klašnja (www.magdalenaklashnja.com) and Irina Somborac.
