This year, the Festival "World of Music" was held in the Open-air Museum "Old Village" in Sirogojno for the fifth time. The creator and organizer of the Festival is an ethnologist Dragan Cicvarić, curator of the Open-air Museum "Old Village" Museum in Sirogojno.
The main idea of the Festival is to introduce Museum visitors to the traditional music of Serbia and the Balkans through concerts and educational workshops. Festival audience has the opportunity to see "alive" and hear the actual performers of traditional music and to get to know folk instruments, different types of singing and playing. Traditional music, as well as the intangible cultural heritage in general, is a "living" process that is constantly changing, so the traditional music has been influenced by different music genres and cultures. The Festival "World of Music" is trying to show that change but also the roots from which musical tradition originated.
Miroslav Tadićc and Milan Vašalić performed on the first day of the Festival - Saturday, August 8, 2015, while Miško Plavi and Svetlana Spajić with her "singing troupe" presented themselves to the audience on the second day - Sunday, August 9, 2015.
Open-air Museum "Old Village" in Sirogojno thank to all participants and visitors of the Festival!
We are waiting for you next year with a new inspiring programme!
