OPEN AIR MUSEUM "СТАРО СЕЛО" SIROGOJNO ZLATIBOR
Living their ordinary everyday lives, people create their identity and history and form culture by which they are recognized. The exhibition Diary of a Century, through documentary photographs and a short narrative form (extracts from the diary of a rural teacher), shows some segments of personal and public social events and circumstances in the life of a family in a mountain village in western Serbia during the 20th century.
The exhibition ‘’Threads of Time’’ by Ljiljana Koković was opened on June 10 at 7pm in the Museum Hall.
The intersection of research up to now has shown that traditional music of Zlatibor area is an interesting cultural phenomenon. It refracts everyday life of the population of this region - human notions about religion, superstition, moral, etc. Specific historical, cultural, social and economic circumstances have succeeded in preserving original elements and forms in one part of the folk music; on the other hand, there appear some new categories – new musical instruments, group instrumental music making and a new category of players – the professionals.
The exhibition "Music through life" and a concert of Mina Matijašević and Ethno Jazz Orchestra on Thursday, July 30, 2015 marked the Museum Saint’s Day The Fiery Mary.
The exhibition was opened by Professor Dimitrije Golemović, ethnomusicologist.
